Barnwell PD search for 3rd suspect in AT&T armed robbery
Thursday, March 9, 2017

BARNWELL COUNTY, SC (WRDW/WAGT) - Two people have been arrested and one person is on the run after an armed robbery at an AT&T store in Barnwell.

Barnwell police said the Rasha’d Hassan Breeland, 21, of 306 Litchfield St., Apt. 379, Barnwell, was arrested Feb. 21 and charged with five counts of armed robbery, four counts of kidnapping, four counts of pointing/presenting a firearm, and one count each of grand larceny, simple possession of marijuana, safecracking and petit larceny.

A 14-year-old male juvenile is also facing charges in connection to the armed robbery, said acting police chief Brian Johnson.

The armed robbery happened on Jan. 14. Investigators said three armed males wearing hoods entered the store around 7:30 p.m.

According to Barnwell Police, three employees and one customer were inside the store when two of the suspects had their faces covered. Surveillance cameras caught the robbery.

Officers and a dog team searched the area after the robbery and were led to Litchfield apartments behind the Wal-Mart shopping center where AT&T is located. Barnwell PD said Breeland lives in one of the apartments.

The police department said the incident report won't be released until the third suspect is located. The amount of money and number of cell phones stolen also has not been released.
