Calhoun County Sheriff's Office seeks public help in locating shooting suspect

CALHOUN COUNTY, SC - A Columbia man died in a shooting that occurred in Calhoun County over the weekend. According to Calhoun County Sheriff Thomas Summers, deputies responded to reports of shots fired at an abandoned house on Falcon Lane early Saturday evening.

According to the Sheriff, responding deputies discovered Charles Brown, 38, of Columbia, had died as a result of a gunshot wound.

“Our initial investigation has led us to charge two individuals that were responsible for Mr. Brown’s death. One of those individuals has been apprehended and the other is still at large”, said Sheriff Summers.

Arrested and charged with Murder and Armed Robbery was Quinton Mills, 21, of 905 Old State Rd., Gaston, SC. Murder and Armed Robbery warrants have been issued for Derrick Mills, 42, of 905 Old State Rd., Gaston, SC.

Calhoun County deputies are actively seeking the whereabouts of Derrick Mills and are asking anyone who has information about him to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME SC or Lt. Stanley Graham at 803-874-2741.
