Suspect arrested in Ervin Street shooting
COLUMBIA, SC (WACH) - The search for a Columbia shooting suspect is now over.
Columbia police say they have Christopher Robinson, 35, in custody and are interviewing him.
Heyward Jackson was shot and killed late Tuesday afternoon on Ervin Street in Columbia. Neighbors flagged down an officer on patrol, who then called EMS crews to the scene. Jackson was taken to an area hospital and pronounced dead in the emergency room.
Investigators say the victim was visiting Robinson when the shooting happened. Police saly Robinson shot Jackson several times and fled the scene with unidentified woman.
