Two women accused in death of South Carolina man
Tuesday, July 29, 2014

LAKE CITY, S.C. (AP) - The sheriff's office in Williamsburg County says two women are charged in the death of a man whose body was found in his home earlier this month.

The Morning News of Florence reports that Sheriff John Bartell said Donna Hemmans and Tasha McClary are charged in the death of 39-year-old Charles Burroughs. Bartell said Burroughs' body was found in his home on July 11 with two gunshot wounds.

Bartell identified one of the two women as Burroughs' girlfriend, but didn't specify which one.

Hemmans is charged with murder and possession of a weapon. She is being held without bond. McClary is charged with misprision of a felony and is jailed under a $5,000 bond.

Jail records didn't indicate if either woman has an attorney.
