LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department in cooperation with the County of Lexington will be conducting its annual book sale on Friday, August 1 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, August 2 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The annual book sale will be at the Lexington Recreation and Aging Center, 432 Ballpark Road, Lexington.

Lexington County Sheriff A. Lewis McCarty said all books sold at the book sale will cost $1. In addition, all proceeds raised from the book sale will benefit the United Way of the Midlands.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Volunteer Coordinator, Liz Wright is organizing the event, Sheriff McCarty said. Citizens are encouraged to donate unwanted books to the Sheriff’s Department for the book sale. Citizens wishing to donate books may drop books off at the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington. Citizens with additional questions about how to donate or about the event itself may contact Liz Wright by calling 803-785-8230.

If you, or someone you know, have any information regarding any crime, you are encouraged to contact Crimestoppers. You could earn a reward up to $1,000.
