5th ANNUAL CATFISH TOURNAMENT

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Lexington County Sheriff’s deputies, in cooperation with volunteers from Zion Lutheran Church, and Suburban Baptist Church on Saturday, June 28 conducted the 5th annual Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Catfish Tournament for kids at Catfish Haven, 1950 Craigsen Lane, near West Columbia.

Lexington County Sheriff A. Lewis McCarty said more than 10 children were selected to participate in this year’s catfish tournament by Zion Lutheran Church, Suburban Baptist Church, and other community partners. The children were selected were ones who have never had the opportunity to fish before the tournament, McCarty said.

The 5th annual Catfish Tournament was organized by West Columbia resident deputy Adam Spires. Citizens in the West Columbia area who would like more information on community service projects organized by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department should contact deputy Spires at 803-785-0845, McCarty said.
