The 2014 Blue Night 5K Run, Walk and 1 Mile Fun Run has been scheduled for August 15th, 2014. This exciting event will be held at Citizens Park in Aiken. All proceeds will benefit the Aiken Department of Public Safety Police Athletic League (PAL). The Fun Run will begin promptly at 7 p.m. followed by a 7:30 p.m. start time for the 5K Run and Walk. In addition to the run, walk and Fun Run, we’ll wrap up the race with family fun at Citizens Park. From fire trucks (you’ll get wet) to food and cold drinks, there will be a special celebration after the race. Door prizes will be given away.

The ADPS Police Athletic League (PAL) was organized to provide athletic and recreational activities to children who may not qualify for standard athletic programs. All children who live in the community of the City of Aiken are eligible to participate. The goal of PAL is to improve the quality of life for children and citizens living in the City of Aiken by reducing idle time, instilling self-discipline, improving self-esteem, promoting school attendance and academic performance, teaching basic life skills and developing better relationships.
