BLOOD DRIVE
Friday, June 13, 2014

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - In more than three weeks, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department in cooperation with the South Carolina chapter of the American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8 in the Squad Room at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts encourages citizens to donate blood during the blood drive. The Sheriff’s Department regularly conducts blood drives in partnership with the South Carolina chapter of the American Red Cross.

Evidence Clerk Beth Holliman and Master Deputy Chris Lee will coordinate the participation of the Sheriff’s Department in the blood drive, Metts said. The sheriff encourages citizens to continue to give blood to the American Red Cross.

“The American Red Cross is in need of your help,” Metts said. “Patients are depending on you to roll up your sleeves and make an appointment to give blood.”

Since 2006, blood drives that the Sheriff’s Department has conducted have resulted in the donation of a total of 1,258 units of blood to the American Red Cross, Metts said. The blood drive reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County.
