OFFICERS DONATE MORE THAN $5,000 TO SPECIAL OLYMPICS
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts and Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green said officers served meals to customers at the restaurant and donated to Special Olympics any cash that customers left at their tables after they finished eating their meals. Customers also were able to leave donations for Special Olympics at their dining tables during the fund raiser.
Deputies’ participation in the Cops and Calabash fund raiser for South Carolina Special Olympics reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
