Armed Robbery at Title Max

AIKEN, SC - On April 8, 2014 at approximately 9:00 A.M, Officers with the Aiken Department of Public Safety responded to an attempted Armed Robbery at Title Max, located at 1320 Richland Avenue West.

This crime was reported by a passerby, who observed two individuals, dressed in all black with their faces covered, attempting to gain entry into the Title Max. This witness notified the business next door, who in turn, notified law enforcement. Aiken Department of Public Safety would like for the individual who observed the crime in progress, to contact our agency so that we can obtain more information.

The employees working at Title Max observed the subjects trying to gain entry into the locked doors and called Aiken Department of Public Safety to report the attempted robbery. The two individuals were not on scene when officers arrived.

While Officers and Investigators were on scene at Title Max, a second Armed Robbery was reported at Local Finance, located at 1163 York Street.

Witnesses stated that the subjects from the second Armed Robbery were also dressed in all black with their faces covered. The subjects entered the business armed with handguns and demanded money from the employee. The subjects received an undisclosed amount of money and fled the business on foot.

Officers believe that these two crimes are related and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying these subjects.
