SHERIFF PROMOTES DEPUTY
LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts promoted one Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputy to supervise deputies who are assigned to a road patrol shift.
Metts promoted Michael “Mike” Gooding, 44, of West Columbia, to the rank of sergeant and assigned Gooding to supervise a shift of deputies who conduct road patrols in the West Region Patrol District, which is based near Gilbert. Gooding previously served as a detective in the Major Crimes Unit. On November 29, 2010, Metts appointed Gooding to serve as a deputy.
