Man Charged in Columbia Nightclub Shooting
Tuesday, March 11, 2014

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - Richland County deputies have charged a man with murder in a shooting outside a Columbia nightclub.

The incident took place at Club Bananas on Decker Boulevard around 1:30 am. Thursday.

Investigators said the victim of the shooting, 35-year-old Luther Mitchell, was unarmed and did not act aggressively toward 30-year-old CD Cash.

Deputies say a woman accused a friend of Cash of breaking in her car and they started to argue. Investigators say Cash then got involved in that dispute. Investigators say Mitchell, who was a friend of the woman, tried to calm the situation but was shot by Cash.

Cash was arrested Saturday morning and remains in the Richland County jail. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
