Man arrested in Broad River Road parking lot shooting
Saturday, January 11, 2014

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Richland County Sheriff's deputies say an arrest has been made in a parking lot shooting that injured two men.

Deputies say 23-year-old James Galloway was arrested Thursday afternoon in Aiken County and charged with two counts of attempted murder. Investigators say the shooting was the result of a domestic incident.

Two men were found shot Thursday morning after deputies were called to a parking lot on Broad River Road, according to the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Investigators arrived at the scene just after 7 a.m. and found both men wounded. One was shot in the upper body and the other was shot in the lower body.

They were taken to the hospital with what the sheriff's department called "very serious wounds."

Sheriff Leon Lott says Galloway was arguing with his estranged girlfriend when a female friend tried to intervene and Galloway shoved her. Then the two victims stepped in and they were shot.

Witnesses and family members told deputies Galloway fled to a relative's home in Aiken County, where he was arrested without incident. Galloway was taken to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
