1 Suspect Dead, 2 Wanted in Home Invasion
Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Forest Acres Police say one suspect is dead and they are searching for two other suspects involved in a home invasion on Monday night. Chief Gene Sealy says it started with a knock on the door at a home on Linbrook Drive around 11:45 p.m., he says six people were in the home and came to the door. Sealy says when the residents answered, the suspects busted through the door and began firing shots. Chief Sealy says one of the residents fired back at the suspects killing one. The suspect who was shot and killed has been identified as 23-year-old Deshawn Patterson. Patterson has been arrested 10 times since 2009. I thought someone still has their Christmas lights on and come to find out it was the police," said Peterson. Chief Sealy says he doesn't believe the suspects live in the neighborhood. "This case goes to show you that you can't ever let your guard down," said Chief Sealy. None of the victims received any serious injury.
