Suspects arrested in string of mailbox vandalisms

Lancaster, SC – The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office has charged 2 adults and 3 juveniles with multiple counts of Malicious Injury to property $2,000 or less after a string of mailbox vandalisms that occurred over the weekend.

The two adults (those 17 and older) and 3 juvenile have been charged with damaging 24 mailboxes between 11/23/2013 and 11/24/2013. The incidents occurred in the Arrowood Neighborhood, Shiloh Unity Rd., Kendelwood Rd, Frank Hallman Rd, Michael Dr, Neil Rd, and Hall Ln. areas.

Deputies have filed Juvenile Petitions with the Department of Juvenile Justice for the 3 involved juveniles.

Those suspects 17 and older were arrested on 11/25/2013.

Sheriff Faile said, “We are very pleased to get these cases resolved so quickly. An alert citizen provided us with a vehicle description and we were able to stop the suspect vehicle which led to the arrests. I am grateful that we had someone out there paying attention to their surroundings and reporting suspicious behavior. ”
