LCSD detectives seeking help identifying suspect
Tuesday, November 12, 2013

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Lexington County Sheriff’s Department detectives are seeking help from citizens in identifying the person responsible for committing numerous robberies, and strong armed robberies at businesses in Lexington County, City of Cayce, West Columbia, and other surrounding jurisdictions.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said detectives on Monday, November 11 released a photograph of the suspect. The suspect is a black male, between 5-feet, 10 inches in height and 6-feet in height and weighs approximately 170 pounds. In most of the incidents, the suspect has been wearing a light blue baseball-style hat.

In most of the incidents, the suspect has approached a cashier at a business under the guise of purchasing an item. When the cashier opens the cash register he has attempted to grab as much money as possible before fleeing the store. In some instances, the suspect has become violent when the cashier has attempted to resist the robbery.

Metts asked anyone with information about the suspect or the robberies to contact the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. Citizens also can provide information anonymously by accessing the Crime Tip link on the Sheriff’s Department web site (www.lexingtonsheriff.com).

If you, or someone you know, have any information regarding any crime, you are encouraged to contact Crimestoppers. You could earn a reward up to $1,000.
