HOLIDAY FOOD AND TOY DRIVE

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - In one week, Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies will accept donations of new, unwrapped toys and clothes as well as donations of non-perishable food items for the agency’s annual Christmas holiday food and toy drive. Deputies will accept donations between 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 28 and 1 a.m. on Friday, November 29 at a Wal-Mart Supercenter at 1780 South Lake Drive near Lexington.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said the Sheriff’s Department will distribute toys, clothes and non-perishable food items that are donated to the agency to persons in Lexington County who are need of assistance. Lt. Kevin Blackmon is coordinating the Sheriff’s Department holiday food and toy drive. Citizens who have questions concerning the holiday food and toy drive can contact Blackmon at his office at (803) 785-2411 or via email at kblackmon@lcsd.sc.gov.

The Sheriff’s Department holiday food and toy drive reflects the agency’s mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
