HOLIDAY FOOD AND TOY DRIVE

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department now is accepting donations of non-perishable food items, new, unwrapped toys and new, unwrapped clothing for the agency’s annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive. Donations will be accepted through Friday, December 20.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said deputies will distribute the non-perishable food items, new, unwrapped toys and new, unwrapped clothing that are donated to the Sheriff’s Department to persons in Lexington County who are in need of assistance. Citizens who have questions concerning donations for the annual Sheriff’s Department Holiday Food and Toy Drive can contact Lt. Kevin Blackmon on his cellular telephone at (803) 600-7074 or via email at kblackmon@lcsd.sc.gov.

Metts said citizens can donate non-perishable food items, new, unwrapped toys and new, unwrapped clothing at the following four Sheriff’s Department facilities: Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington; North Region Service Center, 111 Lincreek Drive, Columbia; South Region Service Center, 102 Airport Road, Pelion; and West Region Patrol District Headquarters, 4079-B Augusta Highway, Gilbert.

Citizens also can donate non-perishable food items, new, unwrapped toys and new, unwrapped clothing during an annual Christmas holiday drop-in that Metts will conduct between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3 in the Squad Room at the county James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington. Light refreshments will be served at the drop-in. Santa Claus also will be present to greet and speak with children.

The Holiday Food and Toy Drive reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
