Deputies say woman attacked by acquaintance

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man accused of attacking a woman in Lower Richland County Monday afternoon.

Deputies say the man was an acquaintance of the victim. They say they know who he is, but they are not releasing his name yet.

The attack occurred at about 4 p.m. Monday at a home on Minervaville Road. Deputies say the man beat the woman with a closed fist and attempted to sexually assault her when her friend tried to intervene.

The man ran off after the beating.
