Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said investigators do not have a detailed physical description of the man, who is white and heavy-set. The man has large, muscular shoulders and a large and muscular neck.

The first burglary was reported to the Sheriff’s Department at about 1:23 a.m. on August 22 at the Jasmin Grocery, 500 Ballpark Road, Gaston, Metts said. The man broke into the business and stole two cases or two 18-packs of beer.

The second burglary was reported to the Sheriff’s Department at about 5:52 a.m. on August 22 at the Gaston ABC liquor store at 166 North Main Street, Gaston, Metts said. The man broke into the store and stole bottles of vodka and Crown Royal whiskey as well as an undisclosed amount of cash.

The third burglary was reported to the Sheriff’s Department at about 12:54 a.m. on September 20 at D and M Foods at 4289 Fish Hatchery Road, Gaston, Metts said. The man attempted to break into the business but was unable to gain entry inside the business.

The fourth burglary was reported to the Sheriff’s Department at about 1:30 a.m. on September 20 at Fred’s discount store at 106 Jimmy Martin Circle, Gaston, Metts said. The man broke into the business and stole at least two cartons of Marlboro cigarettes.

Metts asked anyone with information about the man who committed the burglaries to contact the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
