SPRINGDALE POLICE ARREST SUSPECT FOR A FIRE STARTED AT AN APARTMENT BUILDING

SPRINGDALE, SC - Springdale Police Chief Kevin Cornett announces the arrest of Terrence Parr in connection to a fire that was set at an apartment building in Springdale.

On Tuesday September 17, 2013 at approximately 6 am officers with the Springdale Police Department responded to a burglary alarm at an apartment in building 11 of Forestbrook Apartments located at 2805 Shadblow Ln, West Columbia, SC 29170. The responding officer found the front of building 11 in flames and immediately used his department issued fire extinguisher to put the fire out. The fire was on the front door of apartment 11-2 and had spread to the front of the building between apartments 2 and 1. The officer was able to put the fire out and check for any injured persons inside of apartment 11-2. The Lexington County Fire Department responded and aided in ensuring that the fire was completely out.

Investigators with Springdale Police Department and SLED worked together to investigate the arson. On September 19, 2013 after executing search warrants related to the arson, Investigators issued an arrest warrant for Terrence Parr (DOB 11/17/1979 (33)) for the charge of Arson 3rd.

Terrence Parr turned himself in at the Springdale Police Department on Friday September 20, 2013 at approximately 1:30 pm. Parr was transported to Lexington County Detention Center.
