Pair allegedly steal tip jar from restaurant
ST MATTHEWS, SC - The owner of New China on Bridge Street reported Sept. 11 that two black males came into the restaurant and took the tip jar containing about $10 off the counter.
The owner was able to identify one of the suspects, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The other suspect is unknown at this time.
A resident of Sweetwater Road reported Sept. 11 that his three-ton air conditioner was stolen. The remains of the air conditioner were found in the backyard of the residence with all of the copper removed. The loss was estimated at $5,000.
A resident of Burke Road reported Sept. 11 that a four-ton air conditioning unit was taken from her residence and torn apart for the copper in it. The unit was valued at $3,000.
A resident of Burke Road reported Sept, 13 that her carport door had been damaged. Nothing was found to be missing. Damage was estimated at $200.
A resident of Stumphole Road reported Sept. 14 that someone came onto his property and stole four red plastic gas jugs, a boat seat, a boat motor and fishing rods valued $1,000.
On Sept. 16, a resident of Sandpiper Drive reported someone broke into her residence through the back door and stole a 14-carat gold necklace, two Kindle Notebooks, a laptop computer and an X-Box 360. Mail and old bank statements were also removed. The value of the stolen property was estimated at $2,501.
