Suspects wanted for stealing lottery tickets from Blythewood Stop and Shop
Wednesday, August 21, 2013

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC - Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott is requesting the community’s assistance in locating two people wanted for questioning after a large quantity of lottery tickets were stolen from a convenience store.

The incident happened just after 3:30 a.m on August 8 at the Blythewood Stop and Shop, located at 10447 Wilson Boulevard.

The suspects broke into the business by breaking the window of the front door.

They can been seen on surveillance video stealing an undetermined number of South Carolina Education Lottery tickets. Both suspects were wearing masks and gloves. One of the suspects was wearing a backpack.

After grabbing the tickets, they left the area on foot.

Approximately four hours later, a man was captured on surveillance video at the AM PM Food Mart on Parklane Road attempting to cash in some of those stolen tickets, according to Lott.

Minutes later, another man is seen entering the store and asking the other man to leave. Deputies believe he may have information about the burglary.

Lott asks that anyone with information on the identity of the suspects or information about the crime should call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
