Man wanted in fatal shooting arrested at Motel 6
Thursday, August 8, 2013

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC (WIS) - Members of the Richland County Fugitive Task Force have arrested a man accused of killing one person and severely injuring another man Monday night in North Columbia.

Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said officers arrested 34-year-old Ivory English on Tuesday at the Motel 6 on Nates Road in Columbia.

English is accused of fatally shooting Mandell V. Glover of Irmo and severely injuring another man during a fight between cousins in the 5100 block of Woodbrier Street. Lott said English also shot at a female who took cover behind a car. She was not injured.

When deputies got to the scene around 8:30 p.m., they located Glover lying in the roadway un-responsive and another victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. The unidentified victim was transported to Palmetto Health Richland Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Lott said that during the altercation English pulled out a gun and began shooting at the victims. Crime scene investigators through their investigation were able to obtain forensic information that led deputies to English, according to the sheriff.

English was charged with murder, two counts of attempted murder, possession of a stolen weapon, and transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
