3 shot, 1 killed in early morning shooting

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - Police say three people were shot and one person was killed at a home in southeast Columbia early Thursday morning.

The Columbia Police Department says it happened around 1 a.m. when a group of suspects tried to commit some sort of crime at the home on Springway Drive off Garners Ferry Road.

Police say one person who was shot may be a suspect.

The Richland County Coroner's Office identified the deceased as 21-year-old Jarrett D. Jackson. An autopsy conducted shows Jackson died from a gunshot wound to the head.

Investigators are still gathering information.
