Sheriff: 'If you are reading this, turn yourself in because we will find you!'
Tuesday, July 23, 2013

ORANGEBURG, SC - Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell has some pretty strong words for a man accused of threatening a 25-year-old woman over the weekend.

Kishon Chappelle Govan is wanted for reaching through an open window on the back door of a Nugget Drive residence and opening the door just after 5 a.m. on Sunday.

Ravenel says Govan then pointed a weapon at the victim and said "I should kill you," and "You better be glad your kids are here." Govan had already left the residence when officers arrived, the sheriff said.

Ravenel is asking for the community's assistance in finding a man he describes as being "armed and dangerous."

"We do believe that Govan is a threat to his victim and to others based on the incident Sunday morning," said Ravenell. "Govan if you are reading this, turn yourself in because we will find you!"

Anyone with information concerning Govan's whereabouts is urged to call Investigations at 803-534-3550 or CrimeStoppers at 888-CRIME-SC.
