Police: Columbia Man Arrested After Allegedly Threatening Police
Columbia, SC (WLTX) - A man is under arrest after threatening to shoot Columbia police officers early Thursday morning.
Columbia police were called out to the Greenview community for a domestic dispute.
When police arrived on the scene, officers say 32-year-old stephen green told officers he would shoot and kill them if they entered his home or yard. According to police he made repeated threats to kill the police officer.
Columbia police SWAT team arrived along with two crisis negotiators, according to officials. A perimeter was set up and streets were blocked off.
A woman, who was in the house at the time, managed to escape after Green fell asleep.
According to police, SWAT was able to enter the house without incident and found the man asleep in the home. He was arrested without incident.
Green has been charged with threatening the life of a public official, disorderly conduct and public intoxication.
