COLUMBIA, SC - The Columbia Police Department currently has outstanding arrest warrants for a suspect wanted in connection with the Colony Apartments shooting investigation.

Investigators are searching for Marcus Sinclaire Gantt (DOB: 7-25-1991)

Once captured, he is expected to be charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during the Commission of a Violent Crime, and Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol.

Investigators believe that Gantt intentionally shot at a passing vehicle in an attempt to strike occupants. Gantt is accused of running towards the vehicle while firing rounds at it.

Gantt was seen on surveillance video allegedly committing the crimes.

A 4-year-old girl was hit by a stray bullet while she watched TV in her home on Bailey Street.

The incident occurred shortly before 8:00 p.m. at the Colony Apartments on Monday, July 8, 2013.

Gantt should be considered armed and dangerous.

Investigators continue to gather information about the case and encourage citizens to provide information on other persons of interest.
