Spots Available for Lott's Camp for Troubled Teens
Tuesday, June 11, 2013

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - There are still spots available for a camp for troubled teens that's being run by the Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff Leon Lott says people can still sign up for CAMP LOTT. That stands for "Leading Our Troubled Teens."

Lott says the camp is designed to cut down on at-risk behavior through mentoring, physical activity and sessions on life skills. There are also courses on anger management, goal setting and problem solving.

Parents will be able to sign their children up for this program by coming to the Richland County Sheriff Department located at 5623 Two Notch Rd. A form will be provided for the parents of prospective participants to get signed by their doctor stating that their child is cleared for participation in this camp. Costs will be $50.00 for residents of Richland County and $75.00 for non-residents.

Camp for boys begins June 16, while a girls' session starts June 23. All events will be held at the McCrady Training Center.
