Friday, May 3, 2013

COLUMBIA, SC - After receiving a tip from a concerned citizen, Richland County Sheriff’s Department arrested and charged five Columbia men with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and possession of stolen firearms.

Deputies arrested 21-year-old Marquis Clark, 33-year-old Rico Felder, 33-year-old Andre Daniels, 19-year-old Khiry Williams and 42-year-old Jimmy Clark.

According to the report, on Tuesday, April 30, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department Gang Task Force received information from a concerned citizen in reference to illegal activity at 211 Shealy Street.

After a follow-up investigation regarding that information deputies located several assault rifles, a handgun, several flat screen TV’s, three military style ballistics vests, several brand new boxes of cookware, archery equipment, cash, and seized almost a pound of marijuana, the report stated.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that due to the abundance of illegal items seized from the residence, the investigation continues, and additional charges are possible. Sheriff Leon Lott commends the citizens for getting involved and assisting in ridding the streets of Richland County of these dangerous individuals.

All five suspects were transported to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center.
