Sheriff releases additional information in late night shooting – issues warning to Gangs
Tuesday, April 16, 2013

RICHLAND COUNTY, SC - Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott stated that Deputies responded to a shooting at “Next In Line Event Hall” on April 5, 2013 around 10:30 PM. Sheriff Leon Lott stated there was a large teen party being held at the location (6108 Two Notch Road) when a large brawl broke out inside the club and spilled over into the parking lot. The Sheriff added that multiple people started shooting resulting in two different people being sent to the hospital.

Sheriff Leon Lott stated that investigators have determined that everyone involved, including those shot, were directly involved in this incident; and the incident was clearly between two rival gangs.

The Sheriff has assigned the Department’s Gang Unit to identify all parties involved and put those responsible in jail. Sheriff Leon Lott stated that this incident is the result of Gang members having a “wild west mentality” that he will not tolerate. Sheriff Leon Lott added that he will not stand for gangs, their behavior or any illegal activity.
