CRIMESTOPPERS: MURDER SUSPECT IDENTIFIED; WANTED BY CPD CONSIDERED ARMED AND DANGEROUS

COLUMBIA, SC - Acting Columbia Police Chief Ruben Santiago announces that CPD has outstanding arrest warrants for a teenager accused of shooting and killing a man overnight.

Clifton DeAaron Dreher (DOB: 12-17-1995) is wanted for Murder and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Violent Crime.

Dreher is accused of shooting and killing a male victim at the 1800 block of Tremain Street shortly before 2 o’clock this morning.

Warrants for his arrest have been entered in to the National Crime Information Center (NCIC).

Preliminary information indicates that the shooting stemmed from a verbal altercation at the home.

The male victim was standing on the porch of a Tremain Street residence when Dreher allegedly shot at the victim.

People at the scene drove the victim to the hospital where he was pronounced dead by medical staff.

The vehicle used in the shooting has been recovered and is being processed for potential evidence by CPD’s Crime Scene Unit.

Dreher’s last known address is 112 Cardamon Court in Columbia. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

This shooting death marks CPD’s first murder investigation of 2013.
