Multi state counterfeit check cashing suspects‏

SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC - The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office along with Greer Police Department and the US Postal Inspection Service is looking to identify the people in this picture. They are suspects in a multistate counterfeit check cashing ring.

The suspects are stealing mail out of victims’ mailboxes and using their information to produce counterfeit checks. These checks have been passed in SC, NC, and GA. Some of the places they have been passed are Lowes, Toys R Us, Hobby Lobby, Bi-Lo and Tractor Supply.

One of the victims has over 25 different checks written in his name, and numerous collection agencies are threatening to put him in jail.

The total amount of loss at this time is estimated to be in excess of $20,000.

Tipsters can remain anonymous, and if their information leads to the identification and/or arrest of the suspects, they could receive a substantial reward.
