Suspect in Sexual Assault of Minor is Person of Interest in Murder
Tuesday, February 19, 2013

Sumter, SC (WLTX) -- U.S. Marshals have arrested Markice Hunter for sexual assault of a 12 year old in 2012, and they also say he is a person of interest in the murder of Aaron Abraham in July of 2012.

Hunter was apprehended by the Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force in East Orange, NJ on Wednesday, January 30th. Sumter P.D. received a tip that Hunter might be in that area, and had an outstanding warrant for his arrest on a charge he sexually assaulted the 12 year old daughter of an acquaintance in March of 2012.

Sumter Police and the Sumter County Sheriff's Office plan to question Hunter, following his extradition back to South Carolina, as a person of interest in the disappearance and murder of 18 year old Aaron Abraham in 2012. After being reported missing in July of that year, Abraham's remains were found along the side of Highway 21 near Wedgefield, SC weeks later.

Sumter P.D. continue to encourage anyone having information regarding the murder of Aaron Abraham to call Sumter P.D. at 803-436-2717, or CRIMESTOPPERS at 888-CRIME-SC (888-274-6372).
