Murder Suspect Arrested Following Domestic Dispute

LANCASTER, SC – On Monday February 11th at approximately 11:53 PM deputies were dispatched to 8992 Old Jefferson Hwy after a male subject called 911 and reported that he had shot his wife. Upon arrival at the scene, Joseph Daniel Hilton (W/M DOB: 10/28/1950 Address: 8992 Old Jefferson Hwy. Kershaw, SC) surrendered himself to deputies in the front yard. Upon entering the home, deputies located Deborah Faile Hilton (W/F DOB: 08-03-1953 Address: 8992 Old Jefferson Hwy. Kershaw, SC) deceased inside the home. Hilton appeared to have a single gunshot wound.

Criminal Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators arrived on scene and began a detailed investigation. The investigation thus far has shown that Hilton shot his wife one time following a domestic argument. No one else was present at the time of incident.

Joseph Hilton has been charged with murder and is currently incarcerated at the Lancaster County Detention Center awaiting a bond hearing.
