PALMETTO BOXING ASSOCIATION PRESENTS VOUCHERS TO BUY BALLISTIC VESTS FOR FIVE OFFICERS
Monday, January 14, 2013

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Jerry Caulder with the Palmetto Boxing Association will present vouchers at 3 p.m. on Friday, January 11 to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department to buy ballistic vests for two deputies and to the Columbia Police Department to buy ballistic vests for three officers. The vouchers reflect proceeds from the Metro Madness 2 boxing competition, which was conducted last year at the Township Auditorium, 1703 Taylor Street, Columbia.

Caulder will present the vouchers to Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts and a staff officer with the Columbia Police Department in the Squad Room at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington, Metts said.

The Palmetto Boxing Association presented a boxing match during Metro Madness 2 between a sheriff’s deputy and Columbia police officer, Metts said. Deputy Patrick “The Hammer” Hanko faced Columbia Police Officer Emanuel DeJesus in the law enforcement boxing match.
