RICHLAND COUNTY, SC - Message from Sheriff Leon Lott on gambling‏:

“Gambling (video gaming machines, internet sweepstakes, magic minutes and anything similar) is illegal in South Carolina. We continue to receive tips and information that businesses and citizens continue to operate this type of criminal activity. Let me be clear, that as long as it is a crime to gamble, or possess gaming machines, we will prosecute you. Beginning January 21, 2013, The Richland County Sheriff’s Department will begin actively locating and charging anyone possessing these gaming machines or operating illegal gambling operations or playing; this will include the incorporated and unincorporated areas of Richland County.”
