Arrest made in recent downtown burglaries

AIKEN, SC - Investigators with Aiken Department of Public Safety have made an arrest in connection with the recent burglaries in the downtown Aiken area. Investigators have arrested Tremayne Deshawn Crawford (22) of Aiken, SC. Mr. Crawford has been charged with Burglary 1st degree by the Aiken Department of Public Safety. Mr. Crawford also had outstanding warrants for his arrest by Aiken County Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Crawford was located hiding in the attic of a residence on Abbeville Avenue just after 6PM. He is currently incarcerated at Aiken County Detention Center. This incident is in the very early stages of the investigation.

Aiken Department of Public Safety received assistance in the investigation by the ATF Rage Unit (a joint gang/violent crimes task force with Aiken Department of Public Safety, Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, North Augusta Department of Public Safety, Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives), South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED), Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, and the Aiken County Solicitor’s Office.
