Suspect sought in Hardee’s robbery
Wednesday, November 7, 2012

ORANGEBURG, SC - Police are asking for the public’s help locating a man suspected of participating in the robbery of an Orangeburg Hardee’s.

Warrants have been issued for attempted armed robbery, four counts of kidnapping and possession of a weapon while committing a crime against Ramone Karim Drew of Columbia.

Police say the 19-year-old Drew should be considered armed and dangerous. He is a person of interest in several other armed robberies.

Investigators say that near closing time on Oct. 26, two black-clad gunmen tried to rob the John C. Calhoun Drive restaurant.

Hardee’s workers said the two gunmen entered the store, one was carrying a handgun and the other a shotgun. They demanded that one of the employees open a safe.

Employees aren’t given the combination, however, and the safe was never opened.

One of the gunmen then fired a round, which struck a baseboard.

No one was injured.

If anyone has any information about Drew’s location or the other gunman, they are asked to call Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
