Lugoff, SC (WLTX) - Kershaw County deputies are searching for a suspect who robbed a gas station at gunpoint.

Officers say on October 27 at 5 p.m., the suspect entered the Kangaroo located at 840 Highway 1 in Lugoff.

According to investigators, he showed the clerk his gun, went around the counter, and took money from the cash drawer. He also took the clerk's purse that had her ID and wallet inside.

The suspect was wearing an orange mask.

After taking the items, police say the suspect ran into the nearby First Citizen Bank parking lot. He then got in the passenger side of a waiting White Chevrolet HHR being driven by an unknown male. The vehicle then exited the lot and headed toward Hwy 601.
