Sheriff’s Office Charges Suspect with Murder
Tuesday, November 20, 2012

Lancaster, SC – On Monday 11/19/2012 at approximately 1:05 pm deputies and city police officers were dispatched to Springs Memorial Hospital in reference to a victim arriving there with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. The victim was identified as Gaeric Q. Johnson (B/M DOB: 08/13/1989 Address: 1206 Phillips St. Lancaster, SC). Johnson was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival. Johnson was brought to the ER in a personal vehicle by an acquaintance. The investigation showed that the incident took place at a residence on Cedar Pine Lake Rd. in the county.

Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigators and Crime Scene Investigators arrived on scene and began a detailed investigation. At this point all of the persons present during the shooting have been identified.

Late last night, Investigators charged Jeffery Lanard Roseborough (B/M DOB: 01/22/1982 Last Known Address: 710 Central Ave. Lancaster, SC / 5300 Sweatt McCollough Rd. Great Falls, SC) with Johnson’s murder. Roseborough has not yet been located. The investigation has revealed that Johnson and Roseborough were involved in a relationship with the same woman which is believed to have led to the incident.

Sheriff Faile said, “We are thankful that we were able to get this case solved so quickly. Our investigators did a great job. My condolences go out to the family of Mr. Johnson and we will leave no stone unturned until Roseborough is in custody.”
