Robbery Suspect Shot By Victim at Gas Station
Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- A victim shot an armed robbery suspect early Wednesday morning at a gas station in Richland County.

Richland County Sheriff Deputies responded to an armed robbery call just after 1 a.m. Wednesday at the Corner Pantry Shell station on Forest Drive near Percival Road.

According to deputies, three men entered the business wearing black clothing and ski masks carrying hand guns and demanding money and lottery tickets, and fired shots inside the store.

The deputies report that the victim, in fear for her life, returned fire and struck one suspect in the upper body. That suspect was transported to an area hospital, where his condition is unknown.

Deputies believe a second suspect was also shot, although he fled the scene with the third suspect.

Sheriff deputies continue to investigate the incident, and are searching for the two suspects.
