Report: Suspect peeks inside store without face covered before robbery
Thursday, November 29, 2012

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a Ridge Spring man on charges of armed robbery and possessing a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in connection with the robbery.

Deputies say shortly after 12 a.m. on Nov. 15, 24-year-old Patrick David Lybrand entered a store located at 2656 Ben Franklin Road in Leesville armed with an AK-47 style rifle and demanded money and five cartons of Newport cigarettes.

During the robbery, Lybrand struck the store clerk in the head with the rifle, the report stated.

The report said just before the robbery Lybrand came to the store, opened the door and looked inside, without his face covered. Deputies say Lybrand then closed the door, pulled up a bandanna over his mouth and nose and entered the store pulling the rifle from under his shirt.

Deputies say Lybrand fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes.

According to sheriff’s deputies, Lybrand’s last known address was 225 Gold Mine Road, Ridge Spring. Lybrand is 6-foot and weighs 180 pounds. Lybrand has brown hair and brown eyes.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of Lybrand, you are urged to contact Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
