Bank robbery forces lockdown at A.C. Flora High School
Monday, October 15, 2012

FOREST ACRES, SC - The Forest Acres Police Department is investigating a bank robbery that happened around 1:15 Monday afternoon. At least one area school was on lockdown while investigators searched for the suspect.

Lt. Bryant Hinson tells WIS News 10 the suspect entered the First Palmetto bank at the intersection of Falcon Drive and Forest Drive armed with a gun. He demanded money from the teller.

Hinson says it is unclear on how much money he got away with. No one was injured in the robbery.

As investigators searched the area, A.C. Flora High School was put on lockdown. That lockdown has since been lifted, according to Hinson.

The Forest Acres Police Department says the suspect is described as a black male approximately 25 years old. He was wearing an oversized grey coat with blue pants and dress shoes. He had a white t-shirt on under the coat.

Hinson says they searched the area but believe he may have had a getaway car nearby.
