Monday, October 8, 2012

COLUMBIA, SC - There were 41 total arrests and 63 charges on Saturday night/Sunday morning in Five Points.

The charges include Third Degree Assault, Unlawful Carrying of a Pistol, Drunkenness, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Beer Under the Age of 21, Open Container, Fake ID, Unlawful Urination, and Providing False Information to Police.

In addition, CPD's Traffic Safety Unit charged James McKibbin Green IV (9-16-1983) with Felony DUI.

He allegedly was under the influence of alcohol when he crashed into another car at approximately 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of Millwood Avenue and Washington Street.

It is believed that Green was traveling East on Washington Street and failed to yield to the other car that was traveling North on Millwood Avenue.

The two cars collided. Green's car flipped on its side as a result.

Green and four passengers were sent to a local hospital. One individual suffered severe injuries while the others were treated and released.

It is believed that the driver of the other car did not suffer serious injuries.
