Sheriff agrees to be Tazed in support of deputies
RICHLAND COUNTY, SC - On September 24, 2012 the Richland County Sheriff’s Foundation will hold its annual golf tournament at the Woodlands Country Club. This exciting tournament is the Foundation’s premier fundraising event that will have great food and fun; with exciting prizes and opportunities for everyone who participates. There will be opportunities to play golf, win door prizes and bid on auction items.
This year’s newest opportunity, for someone to support the Deputies who protect our communities, will be the chance to Taze Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott. For those wishing to Taze Sheriff Lott you must be present and make a minimum bid of $1000. The winning bidder will be provided the opportunity to Taze the Sheriff. The bidding will begin after the round golf is over (around 2:30 PM); and for every thousand dollar increase, the number of seconds the Sheriff will be tazed will increase.
The Richland County Sheriff’s Foundation is citizen volunteers who work to equip deputies with tools, resources and equipment that is often not obtainable through normal budgetary means. Additionally, the foundation members work to support Sheriff’s Deputies and their families when a personal crisis occurs; like a line of duty death or a tragic personal or medical hardship. The Foundation has raised money to buy walkie-talkies, bullet proof vests and support programs like “Kid Print” which helps protect our children.
