Report: $10K in cash stolen from vehicle
Tuesday, September 25, 2012

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a larceny that occurred on Friday.

According to an incident report, officers responded to a larceny call at Donald Drive in Lexington.

Upon arrival, deputies met with the 42-year-old victim who advised officers that sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning her 2003 Dodge Stratus had been broken into.

The victim told officers that all the doors to the vehicle were locked prior to her going to bed.

Officers observed what appeared to be a puncture hole in the corner of the rubber weather-stripping on the front passenger window of the vehicle, the report stated.

Deputies say a black CD visor full of CD’s and a safe containing $10,000 in cash were taken from the vehicle.

According to the report, the victim withdrew the large amount of money from the bank on Thursday. The victim told officers the bills were in a bank envelope inside a tan Sentry safe located on the rear passenger floorboard of the vehicle, under a towel.

Investigators continue to investigate the incident.
