LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - Members of the Central Carolina Realtors Association on Thursday, September 6 donated $336 that the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department will use to buy fans and air-conditioning units for persons in Lexington County who are in need of assistance.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts accepted a check in the amount of $336 on behalf of the Sheriff’s Department.

The Sheriff’s Department annually provides fans and air-conditioning units to persons who are in need of assistance, Metts said. The Sheriff’s Department also accepts donations of fans and air-conditioning units. Fans and air-conditioning units can be donated at the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington.

Lexington County citizens who would like to obtain a fan or air-conditioning unit or who would like to donate a fan or air-conditioning unit are asked to contact Sgt. Diane Paavel at her office at (803) 785-2504 or email Paavel at dpaavel@lcsd.sc.gov.

The distribution of fans and air-conditioning units to persons who are in need of assistance reflects the Sheriff’s Department mission of providing professional law enforcement services that enhance the quality of life for all people in Lexington County, Metts said.
