COLUMBIA, SC - Columbia Police Chief Randy Scott announces that officers want to identify and locate a man accused of exposing himself to young girls in a residential area.

The incident happened on Thursday, August 30, 2012 around 7:30 a.m. at the 3700 block of West Avenue near the Colonial Heights community.

According to the witnesses ranging in age from 11 to 13-years-old, the man allegedly exposed his private parts to the five girls at a school bus stop.

The suspect is also accused of fondling himself.

The girls tell CPD Investigators that after they saw what the man was doing, they screamed and ran to get an adult.

The suspect also ran away.

An adult notified police and stood at the bus stop with the children to make sure the suspect didn’t return.

A SLED forensic artist has designed a sketch of what the suspect may look like.

He is described as a short, thin black man possibly being in his 20’s, with a ‘low hair cut’ and facial hair. He was last seen wearing a gray and blue striped shirt and blue jeans.

The man may live in or frequent the area.
