Chicken house burglarized, $1200 worth of tools stolen

LEXINGTON COUNTY, SC - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at a chicken house on September 20.

According to an incident report, officers were dispatched to Horse Neck Road in Swansea in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, deputies met with the chicken house owner who stated that sometime between 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19 and 6:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, someone entered her chicken house and stole several tools with an estimated value of $1235, the report stated.

The stolen items consisted of:

1 Rigid work site radio, 1 black/yellow Stanley toolbox containing cables/pulleys, 1 black/yellow Stanley toolbox containing nest parts, 1 small electric drill, 1 Craftsman drill, 1 Craftsman reciprocating saw, 1 Makita reciprocating saw, 2 cordless drill/flashlight sets, 6 orange/yellow extension cords, 1 orange weed eater and miscellaneous drill bits.

According to the victim, the doors to the building are always locked.

Deputies say they did not see any signs of forced entry into the chicken house.
